After a five-wicket haul in the first Test, Indian pacer Ishant Sharma delivered once again but this time with the bat. On Day 2 of the second Test at Sabina Park in Kingston, Sharma scored his maiden Test fifty.

Batting at no. 9, Ishant played a crucial knock of 57 runs off 80 balls, adding 112 runs along with Hanuma Vihari for 8th wicket partnership.

Vihari who missed out his century in the first Test scored his maiden Test hundred (111 runs for 225 balls). As a result, India reached a score of 416/10 in their first innings.

For Ishant, it took him 92 Test matches to get to his first Test fifty. Previous to this, his highest score was 31 not out against Sri Lanka at Galle Test in 2010.

Skipper Virat Kohli enjoyed Ishantโ€™s innings, applauding him from the stands. As Ishant reached his fifty, the entire Indian dressing room was delighted and gave a standing ovation to the tailender.
