Ajinkya Rahane ended a 3-year wait for his Test century at home when he reached the three-figure mark on Day 2 of the third Test against South Africa in Ranchi on Sunday.

Rahane slammed his 11th Test hundred and second of the year wherein the Indian vice-captain put behind his batting troubles and hit peak form.

He resumed batting at the JSCA International Stadium on his overnight score of 83 and got going with a cracking cover drive against the Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje. Rahane got to his landmark in just 169 balls, having hit 14 fours and a six.

Before Sunday, Rahane had not scored a century at home since hitting 188 against New Zealand in Indore on October 8, 2016.
