Glenn Maxwell run-out Wanindu Hasaranga

Australia’s Glenn Maxwell predicted an incredible run out while commentating on the field during the first T20I of the three-match series against Sri Lanka.

‘The Big Show’ was mic’d up with Fox Cricket commentators while stationed at deep extra cover in the outfield during Sri Lanka’s chase of 234.

The 31-year-old Aussie was calmly chatting with Mark Howard, Isa Guha and Adam Gilchrist when left-arm spinner Ashton Agar walked in to bowl the final delivery of the 13th over to Wanindu Hasaranga.

Hasaranga chipped the ball over the infield, sparking Maxwell into action, with his on-field microphone picking up him saying ‘run out’ as he ran towards the ball.

Maxwell took the ball in his right hand and fired it to wicketkeeper Alex Carey, who whipped the bails off to dismiss Hasaranga for five runs.

Commentator Howard praised Maxwell’s ‘bullet arm,’ while Guha called his fielding ‘sensational.’

Earlier, Maxwell smashed a quick-fire 62 from 28 balls at the close of Australia’s innings, including seven fours and three sixes.

Australia’s total of 233 proved to be too much for the Sri Lankans as they were bundled out for a paltry 99 in Adelaide.
